The mother of Yailin La Más Viral, Wanda Díaz, is at the center of controversy after publicly explaining why she was not present during two key moments for her daughter: her recent arrest and her granddaughter Cattleya's birthday.
In an interview that quickly went viral, Wanda attempted to justify her absence from the girl's celebration with a statement that did not go unnoticed: she claimed that she did not attend because she was expecting her daughter to give her money to get ready.
“What’s going on? I didn’t go to the birthday party. I was with the baby those days. But she called me to see if I was going, and I told her: ‘but you weren’t going to give me money to fix myself up’”, she commented.
His words sparked an immediate reaction on social media, where many users questioned his priorities and harshly criticized his stance.
But the controversy didn't end there.
Regarding her absence during Yailin's arrest and her visit to the Palace of Justice, Wanda explained that she did not attend because she didn't know how to get there or navigate the location.
“I didn't go because I wrote to Kimberly (her other daughter) to send me the location, but I don't know how to deal with that. I don't drive, I don't know how to navigate with locations. Someone was going to take me, but by the time they sent me the address, they had already left. I didn't know where I was supposed to be.”, she stated.
Additionally, he revealed that he had not yet seen his daughter since his release, stating that he would do so the following day because Yailin was with other family members and his daughter.
The statements have not been well received on social media. Comments such as "that's just an excuse," "she only cares about the money," or "poor Yailin" reflect the feelings of many followers who are questioning the mother's attitude during what are seen as key moments.
Others have even suggested that there might be a deeper family conflict, pointing to changes on social media and recent attitudes.
While Yailin faces a new legal episode following her arrest for possession of firearms and subsequent release on bail, the controversy now also extends to her inner circle.
Once again, the singer's personal life becomes a topic of public debate, this time not only due to her own decisions but also because of those of the people around her.
