The president Donald Trump has revealed the first visual details of what will be his future presidential library, a project that breaks with the traditional standards of such institutions and opts for a monumental scale: a skyscraper facing the bay of Miami that will bear his name in large golden letters visible from a great distance.
The images, shared through a video generated by artificial intelligence and circulated on the Truth Social network, depict a glass tower topped with a tricolor spire and a large American flag hanging from its facade.
Inside, the building would combine functions of a museum, memorial center, and exhibition space dedicated to the political and personal legacy of the leader.
The project was initially driven by Eric Trump, the son of the president, who stated:
"FIRST LOOK: The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library is officially here... This iconic building on the water in Miami, Florida, will be a lasting testament to an extraordinary man, an exceptional real estate developer, and the best president our nation has ever known."
A monumental design with a strong symbolic significance
The skyscraper, designed by the Miami-based firm Bermello Ajamil, stands out for its architectural ambition and the strong aesthetic imprint associated with Trump's style.
In the circulated videos, visitors would enter the building through a golden arch decorated with the presidential seal, leading to a lobby that would include replicas of the Oval Office and the Rose Garden.
The museum tour would also include a gallery inspired by the so-called "presidential walk of fame" that Trump established during his presidency, as well as an auditorium topped by a golden statue of the president himself with his fist raised, referring to the attack that occurred in 2024 in Pennsylvania.
One of the most striking elements of the complex would be the aircraft exhibition.
The project includes both a replica of the Air Force One and the exhibition of a Boeing 747 donated by the government of Qatar, which Trump has announced will be a central part of the library once he leaves office.
A tower that would eclipse a symbol of the Cuban exile
The location of the building has also generated attention and controversy.
The land, measuring approximately 2.6 acres and valued at over 67 million dollars, is located next to the iconic Freedom Tower in Miami, a building historically associated with the reception of Cuban exiles in the 1960s.
According to visual representations, the future library tower will significantly surpass the height of this symbol of exile, with the Freedom Tower being reduced to "approximately a quarter of the size of the Trump monument," as described in the project details.
This proximity adds a symbolic dimension in a city where the Cuban community has played a decisive political role, including in the electoral support that allowed Trump to win Miami-Dade County in 2024.
Replicas of the White House and a ballroom of its own
The interior of the skyscraper would recreate several iconic spaces from Trump's presidency.
Among them, a replica of the Oval Office, the West Colonnade, and a ballroom inspired by the one that the president himself has advocated for the White House.
The presence of large screens displaying the image of the president, outdoor sculptures, and scenic elements that reinforce the personal narrative of his mandate is also anticipated.
Eric Trump summarized the magnitude of the project in statements reported by U.S. media:
"Miami deserves this building… It will be a masterpiece, one that has not been seen in Florida or truly anywhere else."
A million-dollar project surrounded by controversy
The construction of the library is notable not only for its architectural ambition but also for the political and legal context that surrounds it.
The land where it will be built was originally owned by Miami Dade College, and its transfer to the state of Florida—and subsequently to the Trump Foundation—was marked by legal disputes.
A local activist reported that the process violated transparency laws by not being conducted with an adequate public hearing.
Although a judge temporarily suspended the transfer, the case was ultimately dismissed in December after the vote was repeated in a public session.
In addition, the project aims to raise around 1 billion dollars in the coming years, funded in part by private donations and legal agreements.
Trump even included a link in his post for contributions to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation.
A legacy tailored to his figure
Presidential libraries in the United States typically serve as centers for archives, research, and historical memory.
However, Trump's project diverges from that traditional model and leans towards a proposal that resembles a large-scale personal monument.
The foundation itself has defined the building's purpose as a space that remains as “one of the most magnificent buildings in the world and a living testimony to the indelible impact” of the leader.
With its ostentatious design, strategic location, and strong symbolic significance, Donald Trump's future presidential library aims not only to preserve historical documents but also to solidify its own narrative within the urban and political landscape of South Florida.
