Becky G has chosen to speak with complete honesty about one of the most challenging episodes of her personal life: the infidelity of her fiancé, soccer player Sebastian Lletget, and the complicated journey they took to try to rebuild their relationship.
In a recent interview on the podcast Call Her Daddy, the singer not only confirmed that they are still together, but also surprised everyone by admitting that she still feels excited. “I have butterflies in my stomach,” she confessed, making it clear that, despite everything they have been through, their story continues.
The 29-year-old artist explained that after the scandal in 2023 — which erupted shortly after announcing her engagement — she decided to take a step back. “I was distressed and devastated,” she admitted. In that process, she even canceled the engagement and removed her ring, prioritizing her emotional well-being.
Becky also addressed one of the most talked-about points: the criticism she received for choosing to stay in the relationship. “Emotions are not forever. I cannot make important decisions based on other people's emotions”, she stated, making it clear that her decision was personal and not influenced by public opinion.
The singer revealed that the process was not easy. Individual therapy, couples therapy, and deep internal work were key to rebuilding trust. “The worst part of betrayal is that it not only makes you distrust the other person but also yourself,” she reflected.
Despite the pain, Becky insists that she chose to take the time to understand what she truly wanted. Today, she even does not rule out taking the next step: when asked if she still envisions herself getting married, she answered without hesitation, "Of course."
The relationship, which began when they were both very young and was solidified over more than six years, has gone through a process of transformation that the artist herself defines as a new beginning. "Nothing will be as it was before, but it can be something new," she explained.
