A Cuban TikToker identified as @nanyliam96 brought more than a few laughs by sharing the welcome she received upon her return to Cuba: a red carpet laid out on a dirt road, pink and purple balloons, and a decorative palm tree next to a pink wall.

The video, published on March 5, features an improvised welcome in a humble neighborhood of the island, lasting two minutes and 18 seconds, with a dark vehicle in the background and a gravel floor serving as the stage for the celebration.

The tone of the clip is openly humorous and affectionate: the author herself titled the story "Our Welcome in Cuba." This kind of creative welcoming has become a trend among Cubans in the diaspora. Not long ago, another compatriot was received with a massive party in his neighborhood, in a celebration that also went viral.

Emotional surprises are also present in these reunions. A mother who dressed up as a giant bear to surprise her son moved thousands of users on social media, while Cuban grandparents who met their granddaughter for the first time starred in another of the most shared moments of the past few weeks.

Yanisey Calero starred in one of the most impactful moments of such reunions, returning to Cuba after three years away. And the most viral uncle on TikTok also had his own return, showcasing that Cuban creativity and humor know no bounds when it comes to celebrating a reunion.
