The Cuban doctor Rachely Carmenates Sánchez  showcased what she was able to purchase with her February salary and left an encouraging message for her followers: "My country will change soon."

"I am a doctor in Cuba and this is my salary for the month of February10,250 Cuban pesos, equivalent to 19 dollars. Join me to see what I could buy," he says in the video posted on Instagram.

Dr. Carmenates details, item by item, how she spent every penny: a carton of 30 eggs (2,800 pesos), a kilogram of black beans (780 pesos), a packet of lentils (750 pesos), tomato paste (450 pesos), two packs of spaghetti (600 pesos), two one-kilogram packs of rice (1,300 pesos in total), a five-pound bag of chicken (2,250 pesos), ten chorizo croquettes (150 pesos) and medicine for her sister (1,000 pesos).

The total exactly matches the 10,250 pesos of his salary, leaving no room for transportation, hygiene, internet, or any other expenses.

It's not an isolated case. A few months ago, another Cuban doctor went viral by showing a nearly identical situation.

According to recent data, the base salary of a newly graduated doctor in Cuba is around 30 dollars per month, a figure that starkly contrasts with the real needs of any household.

Meanwhile, the average monthly basic cost of living per person exceeds 50,000 pesos, making this doctor's salary insufficient even to meet basic nutritional needs.
