The Cuban singer-songwriter Willy Chirino recorded a new symphonic version of his iconic song "Nuestro día ya viene llegando" alongside the Florida International University (FIU) symphony orchestra, during an event that started as a surprise and improvised performance at the concert hall of that institution.

The recording, made this Thursday, moved students and staff present in the auditorium, where young musicians performed a piece that, according to the artist himself, was composed 35 years ago, before any of them were born.

"I loved it, very emotional… in fact, none of these guys playing in the orchestra were born when I wrote this song 35 years ago," the artist expressed, whose work has transcended generations and borders.

It is expected that the final video of this symphonic version may be released to the public soon, reported the channel Telemundo 51.

The song, transformed into an anthem of hope for Cubans both on and off the island, has played a key role in historic moments over the years.

In a memorable moment, it played at full volume on a state bus in Havana, in a gesture that surprised both locals and visitors.

In another emotional moment, the phrase "It’s already coming" appeared painted on walls as a symbol of resistance and yearning for freedom.

The performance at FIU was supported by prominent figures from the Cuban American community, including the United States Ambassador to Spain, Cuban American Benjamin León Jr., whose presence highlighted the cultural and political significance that this song continues to hold for the Cuban diaspora.
