Anniolys Pino Acanda, a 29-year-old Cuban doctor, has been missing in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a week, her family reported. Desperate after not hearing from her since Sunday, April 12, they initiated a social media campaign seeking help to find her.
Her sister Anyeli Pino has made multiple appeals on Facebook during these seven days: "The last time I heard from her was on Sunday afternoon. I ask you, for the love of God, to share this and help me reach more people. I need the support of the entire community. If anyone has seen her, I would appreciate if you contact me; any information is valuable at this moment."
The Buenos Aires City Police issued an official search bulletin through its Missing Persons Division, confirming that Anniolys was last seen on April 12.
According to the description shared in the police notice, the young woman is 1.55 meters tall, has fair skin, long black hair, and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, and was carrying a black backpack and a suitcase with the Cuban flag.
The Cuban Residents Union in Argentina also shared the search request on its social media, amplifying the appeal for community collaboration.
A Facebook user, identified as Natalia Valot, posted on Thursday giving clues about possible places where the young Cuban was before disappearing. "The last thing known is that she may have stayed at a guesthouse in the Liniers area, apparently attended a parish (believed to be San Cayetano), and also participated in a food fair in a square."
"I need the support of the entire community. If anyone has seen her, I would appreciate it if you could contact me; any information is valuable at this time. Her family in Cuba is desperate," Valot stated.
Anniolys is originally from Perico, in the province of Matanzas, and has been living in Argentina for approximately three years, where she works as a health professional.
Her sister describes her as a very communicative and responsible person. She also mentioned that they communicated with her daily, which makes the prolonged silence particularly alarming. The young woman does not have close relatives in Argentina.
Among the photographs published by her family, there is one in which Anniolys appears in a red medical uniform and a stethoscope. According to information on social media, she has been working as a doctor in Ambrosetti, a town in the province of Santa Fe, in the northeast of the South American country, since 2023.
This Sunday, her sister shared a new message in which she reiterated the request for help: "Anniolys Pino Acanda, Cuban doctor, 29 years old, missing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for a week now. We still have no news! Please share. We need to find her. Thank you for being with us during this time."
Buenos Aires is home to an organized Cuban community that has responded to the call, along with Argentine groups and citizens, but so far there is no information about the whereabouts of the young woman.
