The Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences Miami will become, in 2028, the first super-tall skyscraper in Miami, with 100 floors and 1,049 feet in height, forever redefining the city’s skyline.

The term supertall refers to buildings that exceed 984 feet in height. With this threshold as a reference, the Waldorf Astoria will not only be the tallest building in Miami but will also surpass the Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta—at 1,023 feet—as the tallest building in the Southeastern United States, according to El Nuevo Herald.

The project, developed by the company PMG and located at 300 Biscayne Boulevard in downtown, is designed to resemble a stack of staggered blocks. As of April 2026, the construction has already surpassed the 60th floor of the 100 planned, progressing at a rate of approximately one floor every ten days.

The building will feature 387 condominium residential unitsmore than 90% already sold— and 205 hotel rooms. Prices for the units start at $3.2 million, while the penthouse is listed at $50 million.

But the Waldorf Astoria will not be alone in the heights for long. PMG is also developing the Delano Residences Miami, a 985-foot tower at 400 Biscayne Boulevard, expected to be completed in 2030, which will house the city's first public observation deck.

These projects include the new global headquarters of Citadel, the investment fund of Ken Griffin: a 1,049-foot tower in Brickell, with construction starting in the first quarter of 2026. Other proposed super-tall projects include One Bayfront Plaza, Regalia on the Bay, Miami Riverbridge, and the 888 Brickell by Dolce & Gabbana, all exceeding 1,000 feet in height.

The Okan Tower, developed by the Turkish promoter Okan Group, is also progressing: it has already reached its 50th floor out of a total of 70 and will rise to 902 feet, featuring a Hilton hotel and residential apartments.

Currently, the tallest building in Miami is the Panorama Tower, located in Brickell, with 85 stories and a height of 868 feet. The city's skyline now ranks third in the United States for the number of skyscrapers, just behind New York and Chicago.

Ryan Shear, managing partner at PMG, attributes this new wave of construction to the demand for "aspirational" luxury real estate and Miami's desire to establish itself as a truly global city. "This is magnificent for the city. The more skyscrapers there are, the better".
