The Cuban content creator Flor de Cuba revealed in a video that she is approaching 10 million dollars in total sales in just six months on TikTok Shop, the e-commerce platform that launched her to success from scratch.
In the video, lasting almost three minutes, Flor Danay Hernández detailed her figures with a transparency that left her followers speechless: "For every one million in GMV, I earn approximately one hundred fifty thousand dollars and I'm approaching ten million in GMV in six months".
The GMV, or gross merchandise value, is not your direct profit, but the total billed through your videos. Your personal commission ranges between 10% and 20% for each sale generated.
The figures shared are compelling. In October 2025, he broke his own record: "I sold one million in GMV with over a hundred thousand dollars in profit. And from that month onward, I haven't stopped or decreased sales." Last month, he reached number two globally on the platform with 1.7 million dollars in GMV in just 30 days.
But behind the success lies a story of adversity that few knew in detail. His journey has also been publicly recognized: he recently received the Revelation Creator of the Year award at the TikTok Shop Summit.
Flor mentioned that her entry into TikTok Shop was not a strategic decision, but rather an emergency exit. In Kentucky, where she lived, she suffered a hate campaign that left her unemployed: "They threatened to kill me, they urged me to commit suicide, they unleashed all kinds of hate against me, and I was banned from all businesses."
Without options, she took refuge on the platform. It is worth remembering that Flor arrived in the United States with only 200 dollars, and today, thanks to her success on TikTok Shop, she has been able to close the purchase of her first home in Miami. "I approached TikTok Shop as if there were no tomorrow. In fact, I had no other option because I wasn't wanted anywhere else."
