The Cuban content creator Flor Danay Hernández, known as Flor de Cuba, at the TikTok Shop Summit, the official annual TikTok event dedicated to e-commerce, where she was recognized in the Short Video category.

Flor took the stage with the trophy in hand and shared the moment on her social media with a reaction that says it all: "I WON! Breakthrough Creator of the Year on TikTok Shop... I still can't believe it."

His name and username were projected on the screen of the event before the audience gathered at the ceremony, a moment that began with his appearance on the red carpet of the Summit, where he arrived nominated and with the certainty that simply being there was already a victory.

But the story behind the award is what has moved thousands of followers.

Less than a year ago, Flor faced criticism for selling on social media. "They told me that wasn't serious," she recalled in her Instagram post, which garnered over 83,600 views, 27,090 likes, and 2,040 comments in just a few hours.

Today, with the award in hand, he reflects on the achievements that this perseverance has allowed him to reach: he bought a house for his mother in Cuba, he acquired his first property in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and in the coming days he plans to finalize the purchase of his first house in the United States, valued at over one million dollars in Miami.

All of this starting from scratch: arrived in the U.S. with only 200 dollars and sleeping on mattresses on the floor.

Its figures on TikTok Shop support the recognition: it ranks in the top 1% of sellers with the highest earnings worldwide on the platform. Just in November 2025, it generated 192,000 dollars net in 30 days, after recording sales of 1.8 million dollars that month. In October, December, and January, it also surpassed one million dollars in sales.

"It's no coincidence that I sell a million for five consecutive months," he has said on other occasions, attributing his success to hours of study, constant preparation, and learning various sales methods and content creation.

Their story resonates especially among the emigrant Cuban community, for whom the narrative of arriving with nothing and building everything from scratch is a shared reality.

In addition to the award, Flor reaches this moment during one of the most intense periods of her life: last Tuesday she announced that she is pregnant with her third child, her first with her partner Alex, who proposed to her in January.

For those who want to continue on their path, the creator has also launched her own academy where she teaches how to generate income with TikTok Shop from scratch.

"Don't let anyone's opinion make you give up on what can change your life," Flor wrote when sharing the award. "I wasn't perfect... but I was consistent when it was uncomfortable."
