The Cuban singer La Diosa shared a video on Instagram where she candidly discussed the difficulties she has faced in launching her new car wash business, Diosa Car Wash, and she made a remark that did not go unnoticed: "People want to leave Cuba and arrive in the United States, but not everyone wants to work. Not everyone wants to put in the effort."
The artist, whose real name is Dianelys Alfonso Cartaya and who arrived in Miami in January 2023, described the startup process of her venture as a genuine odyssey.
I'm finding it incredibly challenging to get the car wash business off the ground. Sometimes we start something and not everything goes as we want it to, he admitted at the beginning of the video.
One of the main obstacles was finding reliable drivers. "I hired a few drivers, and not all of them delivered 100% of the results I expected. This caused me to completely delay all the work I had pending," he explained.
This was compounded by the time invested in the technological development of the business. According to La Diosa, her husband Rey spent over 20 days programming a mobile application to facilitate client appointment management, which also contributed to the delays.
The accumulation of setbacks took an emotional toll. "These past few days, anxiety took hold of me in a way that's hard to explain. I'm not going to lie to you. It has been horrible", she admitted.
However, La Diosa was determined not to give up and seized the moment to send a message to those who are also starting a venture: "If you are starting a business, I recommend changing that defeatist mindset and viewing everything positively. Who said that life was going to be this easy?"
The artist emphasized that consistency is key in any project: "When you start a business, you have to know that the first period won't be easy, that you need to be tough and determined to move forward and lead it to the growth you desire."
The Goddess arrived in Miami just over three years ago and since then has diversified her activities beyond music. Although she has received a lot of criticism for selling on TikTok, for instance, she has not given up on her efforts to grow in every possible area.
