Cuban influencer Yily Sin Filtros posted a video on TikTok this Monday in which she addressed two of the most frequently asked questions from her followers: why she does not have legal documents and why she has not fixed her teeth.
"These are two questions I get asked a lot," commented the content creator, who explained that she has been less active because she is focused on her online sales business.
Regarding the condition of her teeth, Yily was straightforward: she stated that she has not been able to afford the treatment due to its high cost. "That costs a fortune that I don’t have," she affirmed, dispelling the perception of some users who believe she has significant income.
The influencer noted that she started from scratch just six months ago and is now beginning to achieve some financial stability. She even mentioned that she plans to move soon as part of her personal progress.
Yily also explained that she has decided to prioritize her 16-year-old son. She is currently in the process of correcting his teeth by getting braces to prevent him from facing similar problems in the future.
"My priority as a mother is to fix my son's teeth," she expressed. She explained that her own dental situation is a result of not being able to receive timely care in Cuba due to a lack of resources and services.
"In Cuba, there were no resources, neither monetary nor material, and today there are even fewer," he stated while explaining the progressive deterioration of his dental health, which requires a long and costly treatment.
The influencer acknowledged that, although her public image might pressure her to address this issue, she prefers to allocate her current earnings to the well-being of her son.
In addition, he responded to criticisms on social media and defended the view that an imperfect smile does not define a person or their aspirations. "It doesn’t determine who you are or who you want to be in the future," he said.
Finally, he announced that in an upcoming video he will address his immigration status and share other positive aspects of his recent life, aiming to motivate those facing difficulties.
