The young Cuban Thalia Montero captivated social media this Monday by posting a live video on TikTok performing "Part of Your World", the iconic theme from Disney's animated movie The Little Mermaid, and her impressive voice quickly earned her the applause of internet users.
In the video, recorded during a live broadcast on the platform, Thalia sings excerpts from the song in Latin Spanish, including verses like "What you see around you, so much abundance, so much splendor, makes you think" and "And to be able to discover what I feel in front of the sun, has no end, I want to know more, much more."
The singer herself expressed satisfaction with her performance in the video description: "I think this one came out right," accompanied by expressions that reflected her excitement.
"Part of Him" is the Latin American Spanish version of "Part of Your World", a ballad written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken for Disney's The Little Mermaid, premiered on November 17, 1989.
In the story, the mermaid Ariel sings it in her secret grotto while gazing at her collection of human objects, expressing her longing to explore the world of men.
Thalía's performance adds to a growing trend of young Cubans conquering TikTok with their vocal talent.
Among the most recent cases are Teresa Vázquez, compared to Celia Cruz in April 2026 for her performance of "Quimbara", and Yaneisy, who in November 2025 moved thousands of users with "Qué voy a hacer sin ti".
The video by Thalia, lasting two minutes and six seconds, gathered over 63,000 views, nearly 6,000 likes, and more than 230 comments on the platform, highlighting the remarkable reception it received among her fans.
User comments highlighted the power and tuning of her voice, recognizing her as a singer with genuine talent who deserves greater exposure.
The phenomenon reflects how TikTok has become a global showcase for Cuban musical talent, allowing voices that would otherwise remain anonymous to reach audiences around the world.
