The Revolutionary National Police conducted a nighttime operation in the Villa Mariana neighborhood of Camagüey, between G Street and 1st Street, where they carried out searches in homes, confiscated prohibited chemical substances, and arrested several individuals.

The complaint was posted on Facebook by Aniuska Martines, who claimed that the agents acted "without authorization" and labeled them "criminals."

"The police went out last night with the intention to work and conducted searches without authorization because they act like criminals, which is what they are, and seized prohibited chemical substances," Martines wrote in his post.

According to the complainant, among those detained are at least two individuals who had no connection to the substances found, yet they were still arrested and charges are being considered against them.

The photographs accompanying the report show the operation taking place in the middle of the night, featuring at least two white vans with blue emergency lights identified by the numbers 051 and 081, a white car with the number 464, and individuals wearing yellow vests or uniforms participating in the procedure.

The scene unfolds in front of a two-story green house with an external staircase, on a narrow street in the neighborhood, typical characteristics of the popular neighborhoods of Camagüey.

Amid the rising drug consumption on the island, police actions have increased. In December 2025, profiles aligned with MININT in Camagüey were already boasting about drug operations involving the arrest of individuals for the sale of "chemicals" and the seizure of money and substances.

The term "prohibited chemical substances" in the Cuban context can refer to both synthetic drugs and chemical precursors or household products whose possession or trade is restricted by the regime.

Human rights organizations systematically document that these operations are conducted without a written judicial order, without a formal detention record, and without notification to family members, violating basic procedural guarantees.
