A driver literally drove her truck over a Lamborghini Huracán parked in a shopping mall in Lake Nona, Florida, in an unusual accident that became a global trend last Friday.
According to the accident videos shared on Instagram, the woman was driving a modified Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a raised suspension and did not notice the presence of the very low-profile supercar while trying to park, ending up with the front end of the truck mounted on the hood of the Lamborghini.
The owner of the crushed vehicle is the businessman and influencer Ramon Ferrer, known on social media as @1realramon, who was inside the car at the time of the impact and emerged completely unharmed.
The woman didn't see me, she almost ran me over. If she hadn't stopped for the axis that caught her there, she would have run me over completely in the Lambo,” Ferrer recounted in a video posted on his Instagram account.
According to the influencer himself, it was the axle of the truck that got stuck in the chassis of the Lamborghini, which prevented the vehicle from being completely crushed.
"Dude, who sees a Lambo under a truck? This is a movie, it's insane," added Ferrer, visibly shocked yet remaining composed in the face of the extent of the damage. He has posted several videos showcasing the accident from different angles, and one of the reels has over 5.7 million views.
The extraction of the vehicles was as complicated as the accident itself: the frames of both cars were entangled, and when attempting to move the truck, it also dragged the Lamborghini along.
Finally, it was necessary to use specialized equipment to lift the entire truck and free the sports car, a process that Ferrer documented in one of his videos posted on Instagram.
"It hurt me more when they took away the Silverado truck than the accident itself," the influencer humorously wrote in the description of that second video.
Despite the visual impact of the collision, no injuries were reported. The incident was categorized as an "accident," and the driver was not publicly identified.
The Lamborghini Huracán is one of the most iconic models from the Italian brand, with a ground clearance of just a few centimeters, making it practically invisible to the driver of a raised truck.
Its market value ranges between 212,000 and over 400,000 dollars depending on the model and year, making any damage a multimillion-dollar loss.
The case revived the debate on accidents involving luxury cars and the risks posed by trucks with modified suspensions, which are very popular in Florida and the southern United States, creating significant blind spots concerning low-profile vehicles.
The discussion about insurance coverage for supercars was also opened. "The insurance agents will ask the lady: What did you run over, a what?" was one of the most shared comments among users.
Ferrer, rather than publicly lamenting, took the incident as an opportunity to project an image of resilience to his followers: "A truck ran over my Lambo, but our mindset doesn’t change."
The accident occurred in Lake Nona, an upscale planned neighborhood in the Orlando area, and recalls other violent accidents reported in South Florida where the material damages have also been quite spectacular.
