A video published this Sunday stirred up Cuban social media: Ana María Daniel, the ex-partner of reggaeton artist El Micha, appeared in a clip shared by the Instagram account @papelencara to publicly defend the artist, just months after he left her, according to her own previous statements, with no money and unable to pay the rent in Miami.
The gesture surprised thousands of followers who remembered the story well.
In September 2025, Ana María confirmed her separation from El Micha after 13 years of relationship and two children together, bidding farewell with a message that many interpreted as a definitive closure: "What was once will be no more. El Micha, many blessings on your new path, I wish you luck. Good luck in Cuba."
Shortly after, El Micha announced his permanent return to the island, stating on the podcast SePoneWeno: "I decide to go to Cuba because I don't want to pay bills anymore... I'm going to Cuba where people show you affection."
His words about the "real family" in Cuba, without mentioning his children, provoked an immediate response from Ana María: "So your children are not your family then?", she wrote on Instagram.
The influencer Sachy Sánchez also publicly intervened to criticize the artist and announced that she had arranged work for Ana María as a real estate agent in Miami: "My friend, you left her stranded in the street with your children, but there are people like me who made sure your children wouldn’t end up on the street."
Now, in the video circulating this Monday, Ana María appears with a firm and defensive tone to defend her ex's career.
"I will always stand up for him. You have to have a strong backbone because this guy has made history. No one gives him credit, no one, not a soul. Just think about what that man has accomplished on a global scale," he stated.
And she added: "He is the father of my children. Even though we are no longer together. He is the father of my children and he is my family."
The clip has garnered nearly 20,000 views, 1,552 likes, and 264 comments in just a few hours, with reactions ranging from disbelief to direct criticism.
The most supported comment summarized the feelings of many: "A woman who that same person allegedly left on the street, honestly I'm not going to say anything more because we all know the story."
Other users were equally blunt: "The internet has a memory after you talked so much trash about it" and "But to be the father of your children, you talked quite a bit about how it left you paying rent."
A sector, although in the minority, appreciated the gesture: "This is how a responsible and respectful woman speaks; the father of her children deserves respect."
The contrast between the Ana María who resumed her career in Miami with the support of part of the Cuban exile and the one who today publicly defends the person who left her in that situation is, precisely, the core of the controversy.
In March 2026, El Micha had already sparked reconciliation rumors by calling Ana María "my life" on social media, without either of them officially confirming anything. This new video reignites the debate, and the Cuban entertainment scene, true to form, is not going to let it go unnoticed.
