Tekashi 6ix9ine returned to social media with a display of luxury that sparked controversy: the rapper posted a series of videos and images on Instagram showcasing Hermès Birkin bags, "iced out" chains, and even a ticket proving the price of one of the bags worth 36,000 dollars. All accompanied by a defiant message aimed at the so-called "inflators" of Miami.

The first video shows him inside a store referring to himself as the "Birkin King."

Among the showcased acquisitions, a medium-sized blue ostrich-textured Birkin stands out, along with a pink Birkin in the same material and a fuchsia mini Kelly, which she used to hang from her new chain featuring charms shaped like the bags from the well-known brand. The rapper also decided to take home a Kelly, along with two Birkin bags—one pink and one blue—for him and her—to reveal the gender alongside his 29-year-old Cuban girlfriend, Aliday Alter, who is pregnant.

The most direct message came in a video released this Tuesday, where 6ix9ine spoke in Spanish, directly addressing his critics in Miami: "This is for all the inflators. We are not inflating here. You thought that when I fell, I wouldn’t get back up. And look, this is not just for show. This is not just for show. I am the best rapper. I am the tank. And remember, the pendant on my chain is worth $36,000, without diamonds, and costs more than your chain."

The term "inflators" has its roots in urban slang from Miami — particularly within the Cuban-American community — and is used to describe those who portray wealth without actually having it: they rent cars, take out loans, and pretend to have a lifestyle that they do not possess.

The lavish display comes just a month after 6ix9ine was released from prison in early April after serving three months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn for violating his probation—possession of cocaine and MDMA.

The symbolic weight of the moment is significant: in February 2025, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) auctioned over 40 items of jewelry and luxury handbags belonging to the rapper to settle tax debts, including a necklace with the name of his ex-partner Yailin La Más Viral valued at $27,000.

Since his release from prison, 6ix9ine hasn't stopped: on April 16, he was already throwing provocations about who has real money in Miami, and on April 22, he distributed $50,000 in cash to families in need in a video that garnered over 839,000 views.

His girlfriend Aliday Alter, the Cuban who won over the rapper and who is expecting their first child together —the rapper's third—, is also featured in the images wearing a necklace similar to the rapper's, but smaller in size.

Reactions on social media were split between those who celebrated his "resurrection" and those who criticized the ostentation of someone who was released from prison just a month ago. The debate over whether the luxury is genuine or merely a performance—precisely what he accuses the "inflators" of—dominated the comments section.

With this move, 6ix9ine confirms that his media strategy post-prison remains the same as always: to provoke, polarize, and stay at the center of the conversation.
