Blanca Rosa Blanco shared an emotional video to pay tribute to her friend and colleague Alina Rodríguez on Mother's Day, evoking tears as she reminisced about the most intimate moments of a friendship that defined her life.

In the reel shared on her Instagram profile, the Cuban actress remembers her companion with words filled with pain and tenderness: "You had the door of your house and your soul open for me, and we ate whatever we had, and we talked so much on the phone that I still remember the landline number."

The message continues to evoke the moves of her friend and a detail that became a symbol of her character: "You moved so many times, and there was always the decorative gate from house to house, always searching for a place. I hold on to all our years—some fun, others painful, fought for."

Blanca Rosa and Alina collaborated in productions such as "El premio flaco" (2009), which strengthens the professional and personal bond that the actress recalls in her tribute.

The tribute concludes with a phrase that encapsulates the void left by their departure: "When you left, we were left watching you more. Happy Mother's Day wherever you are."

Alina Rodríguez passed away on July 27, 2015 in Havana, at the age of 63, a victim of cancer, leaving a significant void in Cuban culture.

Born on October 4, 1951, she was one of the most beloved actresses in film, theater, and television on the Island. A member of the Teatro Estudio group, she dedicated herself to the stage with works such as "Contigo pan y cebolla," by Héctor Quintero.

In film, her leading role in "María Antonia" (1990), directed by Sergio Giral, earned her an award at the New York Latino Film Festival and a nomination for the Goya Award for Best Spanish-Language Foreign Film.

On television, the character of Justa in the telenovela "Tierra Brava" (1997) made her a popular icon for several generations of Cubans.

Her last major role was as teacher Carmela in the film "Conducta" (2014), directed by Ernesto Daranas, which earned her awards at festivals in Málaga, New York, Goa, and the Dominican Republic, among others.

The film won the Grand Prize at the SKIP City D-Cinema Festival in Kawaguchi, Japan, just two days before her death.

The presenter and actress Consuelo Vidal described her with a phrase that summarizes the feelings of those who knew her: "Alina Rodríguez is an outstanding actress!"

Since Alina's passing, other Cuban artists have kept her memory alive. Camila Arteche has publicly remembered her on several occasions, and Alexis Valdés shared a photograph from the filming of "María Antonia" noting that it was the first film for both of them.

The tribute to Blanca Rosa Blanco confirms that, 11 years after her passing, Alina Rodríguez remains a vibrant presence in the hearts of those who knew her and in the memory of the Cuban public.
