A family reunion captured during a heavy downpour in Cuba touched the hearts of thousands on TikTok and became one of the most moving videos on the platform in recent weeks.
The clip, published by the user @liuber28, shows several people completely soaked, embracing each other under a heavy downpour, seemingly unfazed by the rain for even a moment.
The rain, far from overshadowing the moment, transformed it into something even more visually powerful: people soaked, embracing each other, crying and laughing at the same time under the pouring water.
The downpour gave the reunion an almost cinematic quality that TikTok users quickly recognized and celebrated.
In the comments, liuber responded to a follower with a phrase that summarizes it all: "Thank you, love, for being part of the effort to make that dream come true."
The reactions were immediate. The video accumulated over 16,500 views, 1,279 likes, and 54 comments in just a few days, with sustained activity continuing until this Tuesday.
Users interpreted the rain as a sign of blessing. "In that moment, that rain is a blessing, but those hugs are worth so much. I can't wait to see mine and hug them," wrote a user.
Another expressed it with equal intensity: "At that moment, neither rain nor thunder nor lightning matters; embracing the ones you truly love is a recharge for the soul and the heart."
Other comments followed the same emotional line. "Even the rain blesses them," wrote Rosa. "Double blessings as water falls from the sky," noted Marisela Arias. "Showers of blessings, those hugs are lovely and very beautiful," added an anonymous user.
This type of scene has become a recurring viral phenomenon in Cuba, especially since the massive exodus that the island experienced between 2020 and 2024, during which between 1.4 and 1.79 million people emigrated.
38% of Cuban households have at least one emigrated member, which explains why these images resonate so deeply with an audience that is intimately familiar with the weight of separation.
It's not the first time that rain has played a central role in one of these moments. In September 2025, a Cuban arrived on the island in the midst of a downpour and the video went viral. In October of the same year, a family couldn't hold back their tears in a reunion under the rain after four years of separation.
