The Cuban influencer Lauren Daniela (@laurenlotti_) touched the hearts of thousands as she documented how, thanks to the donations from her followers, she was able to gift a bed to a vulnerable family that had been sleeping on the floor for days in Cuba.

The reel posted last Thursday showcases the entire process: searching for the mattress, transporting it in a family wheelbarrow, and delivering it to an elderly mother and her two children, who had to burn their previous bed due to a bedbug infestation.

"It was difficult to get there, but what happened in the end made us all cry. Today, thanks to you, the humble family I showed you who were sleeping on the floor because their bed was burned due to bedbugs, will have a great surprise," Lauren recounted at the beginning of the video.

After searching for options that exceeded 200 dollars, the young woman found a bed for 38,000 Cuban pesos, equivalent to 70 dollars, an amount that in Cuba represents more than ten minimum monthly salaries.

The bed was transported in a wheelbarrow built by Lauren's grandfather, which the family uses daily to carry water and coal.

"This wheelbarrow that my grandfather made is used for carrying water, collecting coal, and we even moved my little brother in it when he had hepatitis," the influencer modestly recounted.

Upon receiving the gift, the elderly beneficiary reacted with emotion: "Thank you, Lord, and to all of you who have helped us. May God bless you. And may God always watch over you. Always for good things, always for what is good."

Lauren was emphatic in attributing the credit to her community: "In Cuba, even dreams come with a price. (...) Thank you for making this possible. You all made this happen."

The video generated a wave of solidarity in the comments, with hundreds of followers asking how they could contribute to future assistance, even from Mexico and other countries.

"My beautiful people, today thanks to you we gave back a dignified dream to a family. Thank you for helping us help. Kisses, I love you," Lauren concluded in the video, a phrase that encapsulates the spirit of solidarity that has turned her profile into a benchmark for humanitarian aid from within the island.
