The Cuban dancer and model Midalys Perdigón Álvarez shared an emotional video on TikTok in which she describes what it means to be part of the artistic team of Ricardo Arjona on his international tour "Lo que el Seco No Dijo": "I am living one of my greatest dreams."
The video showcases the less visible side of life on tour: early flights, meals at airports and in dressing rooms, physical exhaustion, and endless rehearsals. "Living on tour isn't just about getting dressed, putting on makeup, and stepping onto the stage always with the best attitude. It's also about waking up early for a flight when you feel like you've just closed your eyes," the young artist explained.
Midalys, based in Miami since approximately 2023, arrived at the Arjona show in an unconventional way: she was contacted through social media by the page "Mundo Arjona" in May 2025.
Initially skeptical, she requested a Zoom video call to verify that the proposal was genuine. After that first conversation, she sent casting videos, attended an in-person interview on June 13, 2025, and was finally hired.
During the selection process, they indicated that they were looking for someone "more Latino, more authentic," without the need for classical ballet training, which perfectly matched her profile as a dancer with roots in urban styles and Cuban energy.
In the show, Midalys plays the role of "Norma," the blonde protagonist of the iconic song "Historia de taxi," in a scene that features a yellow Volkswagen. Guatemalan media described her as one of the standout figures of the performance due to her stage presence and strength.
The tour, which started as a residency in Guatemala City in 2025 with at least 21 performances, extended in 2026 to Argentina, with multiple dates at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires and the Instituto Stadium in Córdoba.
In Argentina, Midalys celebrated her birthday on May 11 surrounded by her tour companions, who sang her happy birthday. "A different but definitely magical birthday. Far from my family but always present in spirit, and with the warmth of my new tour family that makes you feel at home," she wrote in her TikTok post.
In her most recent video, Midalys didn't hide the difficulties: "There are days when my energy is at two hundred percent and others when honestly I don’t even know where to find the strength." But she also highlighted what experience gives her: "There's that inexplicable feeling of looking around and thinking: wow, this is also my life."
Her story has strongly resonated within the Cuban community abroad. "Cuban talent, when it finds opportunity, does not go unnoticed," said a Cuban creator reflecting on this young woman's achievement from the island.
"The tour demands a lot from you, but it also gives you so much in return," Midalys concluded. "Even though there are tough days, it honestly remains one of the best experiences of my life."
