Alina Rosales Aguirreurreta, daughter of Cuban general Ulises Rosales del Toro, was arrested on Monday by agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while she was working at a plastic surgery clinic in Miami.
According to an exclusive revelation by attorney Avelino González on the program "Encuentro Virtual" of Telemundo 51, the conditions in which Rosales Aguirreurreta is are alarming.
"They currently have her in a center here in Florida. She is not yet in a permanent detention facility, but the conditions are inhumane. They are sleeping on the floor, they are given the same soup for lunch and dinner, and they are not being provided with medication," the lawyer stated. He assured that he knows details of the case even though he does not legally represent the detainee.
González also noted that the authorities are putting pressure on Alina to leave the country of her own accord: "They are trying to pressure her into self-deportation."
ICE detailed that Alina Rosales Aguirreurreta entered the United States with a B-2 visitor visa on November 21, 2023 through Orlando International Airport and is believed to have remained in the country without regularizing her immigration status.
"The problem is that they have not yet granted him residency and they believe that at some point he was out of immigration status," explained González.
In Cuba, Alina Rosales Aguirreurreta worked as a plastic surgeon, and in Miami, she served as an assistant in a clinic in the same field, as confirmed by the lawyer.
Univision Miami reported that the detainee is expected to have a bail hearing before a judge, although the facility where she is being held has not been disclosed.
The lawyer González clarified that this case is different from that of Adys Lastres Morera, sister of the executive president of GAESA, the military-business conglomerate of the Cuban regime.
Adys was detained by ICE in Miami between May 20 and 22 under Section 237(a)(4)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as determined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and later transferred to the ICE Processing Center in Southern Louisiana.
General Ulises Rosales del Toro: Another communist with children in the United States
The father of the detained individual is one of the most influential military figures in the history of the Cuban regime: he served as Chief of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces from 1981 to 1997, then as Minister of Sugar, Minister of Agriculture, Vice President of the Council of Ministers, and a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba until 2011, in addition to holding the title of Hero of the Republic of Cuba.
A report by Martí Noticias published in February 2026 documented that the Rosales del Toro family has enjoyed international trips, exclusive residences, and business ventures.
Another daughter of Rosales del Toro lives between Cancun and Cuba, a son resides in Italy and celebrated a luxurious wedding in Naples, and the granddaughter Daniela Rosales Pérez was showcasing trips across Europe in July 2021, during the protests of July 11th.
The detention of Alina Rosales is part of a broader offensive by the Trump administration against the relatives of officials of the Cuban regime residing in the United States, a pressure that, it seems, has not ended.
