A Cuban identified as Aniadys (@aniadys_aaa) posted a video on TikTok yesterday in which she answers the question her followers ask her the most: how to manage a relationship when there is a 15-year age difference between her and her husband, who is the older of the two.
In the video just over a minute long, recorded while the couple was cooking a lobster together, Aniadys defends her relationship with a straightforward response: “The question I get asked the most: how does a relationship work when there is a fifteen-year difference. And the truth, my love, is that it’s easier than people think, because in the end, a relationship isn’t sustained by age; it’s sustained by peace, respect, and the desire to choose each other every day.”
The creator acknowledges that critical comments are not in short supply and that there are often voices suggesting a potential future infidelity on her part due to being the youngest.
However, she firmly counters: "The age difference will always be a topic in society. There's always someone saying that if the man is older, if the woman is younger, if one day she is going to betray you. And yes, it's true that it can happen, but it also happens in relationships where both parties are the same age."
Aniadys also points directly at those who judge based on prejudices: "People often judge what they do not understand, and many times society never fully accepts because they are used to thinking that everyone must look and function the same."
For her, what sustains a relationship is not about the years each person has: "What keeps a relationship isn’t the number, it’s how you are treated when no one is watching. It’s the tranquility you feel within your home, the peace. It’s cooking a lobster together like you’re doing now, where you talk about a thousand silly things, where you laugh, where you still feel like you can converse and that you feel good next to the person."
The video is not an isolated case. In June 2025, another Cuban defended her relationship with an older man on TikTok with the phrase "He is not my grandfather, he is not my father, he is my husband," assuring that both of them work and that their bond is not based on money.
In October 2025, a young Cuban went viral with the story of her boyfriend who is 25 years older with the phrase "he could be my dad," sharing that they are now happily living in the United States.
In January 2026, a Cuban woman received criticism on social media for being happy in a "collagen" relationship —a term used in Cuba to ironically refer to couples where the woman is older than the man— which shows that the debate about age in relationships generates reactions in both directions.
The debate surrounding these couples often includes suspicions of economic or migratory motivations, the so-called "love at first visa," an additional layer of prejudice that Aniadys does not directly mention but that underlies the comments she receives.
His closing in the video summarizes his stance directly: "The real truth is that not everything stays where there is more youth. One stays where one feels peace, tranquility, where you are wanted, where you are loved, where you feel you are an important person."
