Sandro Castro, grandson of the dictator Fidel Castro, published this Saturday on his Instagram account the program for his festive weekend in Varadero, titled "The Path of the Vampirach," coinciding with the "Start of Summer 2K26" celebration taking place at the Resonance Musique Hotel for 72 consecutive hours.
The flyer shared in their story on Instagram, accompanied by the text "The beginning is getting good, keep watching," details a luxury agenda that includes lunch at Casa Dupont, sunset at the marina, a "hotel path to greet acquaintances," a nighttime beach party, and an afterparty called "El Limón."
The name of the after-party does not go unnoticed: "El Limón" is the nickname commonly used to mock the designated ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel, referring to his famous phrase "the lemonade is the basis of everything", spoken during a visit to a factory.
On Sunday, the program continues with jetskiing at the marina base and a seafood restaurant to "cure the hangover."
The event that this agenda is part of is the "Summer Start Festival 2K26," organized by the audiovisual project Fiesta Havana and Rey Puma in Varadero, featuring 72 continuous hours of Cuban urban music on May 29, 30, and 31 at the Resonance Musique Hotel.
The artistic lineup features Yomil, Charly & Johayron, Ja Rulay, Talent Fuego, Velito el Bufón, Ya Ice Dilan, Hela Busador, Rey Tony , and Un Titico.
All of this is happening while Cuba is going through its worst economic crisis in decades, with power outages of up to twenty hours a day, shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, and rampant inflation.
Sandro Castro, who has over 120,000 followers on Instagram, has become a frequent figure of controversy due to the contrast between his lavish lifestyle and the everyday reality of Cubans.
In July 2025, the Italian press described him as "a symbol of the decline of the revolution" after videos of him surfaced from a foam party at a nightclub.
In October of that same year, he publicly responded to those who questioned him by defining himself as "revolutionary, but not communist", a statement that has only fueled the debate about the inherited privileges of the elite connected to power on the island.
In March 2026, his interview on CNN sparked a public reaction from Senator Rick Scott, who criticized the network for giving a platform to the grandson of dictator Fidel Castro.
While thousands of Cubans have suffered repression for criticizing or mocking the regime, and millions have nothing to eat or pay for electricity, Sandro Castro announces his weekend agenda with a whip at Díaz-Canel: noting that his particular 'after party' is called "El Limón."
