Ángeles Hidalgo, a Venezuelan model and content creator, posted a video on TikTok to categorically deny the rumors that label her as the new partner of Puerto Rican singer Anuel AA.
In the video, the young woman was straightforward from the very beginning: "I've decided to make this video to clarify a rumor circulating on social media that connects me romantically with the Puerto Rican singer Anuel AA, which is completely false, completely, completely false. But people swear by it... not even Netflix dared to go that far."
The origin of the misunderstanding, as Ángeles explained, was her attendance at Blessd's concert in Miami on May 9, where she was in the backstage and posted multiple videos featuring the artist's songs.
"On May ninth, there was Blessd's concert here in Miami, which I attended; I was in the dressing room that day. I wore a black top, the top of discord," he recounted.
Days after that concert, a video went viral showing Anuel AA with an unidentified young woman wearing a black transparent top very similar to Ángeles'.
The similarity in their attire and physical resemblance —fair skin, slim build, long black hair— was enough for thousands of users to assume it was her.
"What can be seen is that she is fair-skinned, thin, with long black hair. So based on all those little things, you decided to assume it's me, but it's not me. Please take me out of that package," she stated.
The young woman also reported the wave of hostile messages she received as a result of the rumor: “I have received a lot of negative, comparative, and offensive comments. And you know what’s the worst part? Most of it comes from women. Use that to build up, not to tear down.”
Ángeles seized the moment to call for female solidarity: "Each of us is unique, each of us is authentic, each of us has our essence. Let's support one another. If only you knew what we can achieve as women together."
The clarification came at a time of intense speculation about the artist's romantic life. In mid-May, a new scandal surrounded Anuel when he was spotted in Mexico City walking at night alongside an unidentified woman, with his hand on her waist.
His partner, Laury Saavedra, with whom he has his daughter Emmaluna —born on January 23, 2025— liked comments that suggested a relationship crisis, although neither of them has confirmed or denied a breakup.
That climate of speculation was the perfect breeding ground for the rumors about Ángeles to spread online, further amplified by the very tags she used in her video: #nuevanoviadeanuel and #rhlm.
The audience's reaction was mostly positive. One user wrote: "I think it's great that she clarified it because it affects her life. Very gracious and beautiful." Another, with a touch of humor, commented: "Girl, I would be happy to be involved with Anuel, even if it were a lie."
The video surpassed 310,900 views and 17,500 likes in less than 48 hours, turning the clarification into a viral phenomenon in its own right.
