The cryptocurrency market has experienced recent days of high volatility following a sharp drop in the price of Bitcoin, which fell below 60,000 dollars, its lowest level in over a year.

The decline triggered massive liquidations of leveraged positions and created uncertainty among investors.

According to data from specialized platforms and financial media such as Investopedia and The Economic Times, Bitcoin experienced losses close to 15% during the first week of June, marking one of its worst weekly performances in recent years.

The correction also affected the rest of the crypto market. Ethereum and other digital currencies recorded significant declines, while thousands of traders with leveraged positions were liquidated within hours due to the rapid price movements.

Analysts attribute the decline to a combination of factors, including capital outflows from Bitcoin-linked exchange-traded funds (ETFs), profit-taking by large investors, and a general increase in risk aversion in the financial markets.

The episode triggered a deterioration in investor sentiment. Specialized indicators placed the market at "extreme fear" levels, reflecting concerns over potential short-term declines.

However, several experts warn that it is still premature to talk about a structural collapse of the market. Bitcoin has experienced similar corrections in previous cycles and has subsequently recovered part or all of the losses.

After reaching recent lows, the cryptocurrency managed to regain ground and rose back above 63,000 dollars, driven by new institutional purchases and a moderate improvement in risk appetite.

While some analysts believe that the correction could extend, others argue that it is merely an adjustment within a market that continues to attract the interest of large investors and specialized funds.

The evolution of Bitcoin ETFs, the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve, and the behavior of global markets will be key factors in determining whether the cryptocurrency manages to consolidate a recovery or faces new downward pressures in the coming weeks.
