A young Cuban known as César, nicknamed "Pingui," has been missing for 19 days, and his mother, Ludys Hernández, issued a desperate alert on Facebook asking for help to find him.

"Good evening, I didn’t want to reach the point of having to publish this immense pain I feel," the mother wrote in her post. "My son is named César, they call him Pingui. He has been missing for 19 days; his last known location was eight days ago in Guanabo. We do not know his whereabouts, we have searched both land and sea."

The latest known sighting places César in Guanabo, a coastal area of the Habana del Este municipality, eight days ago from the time of his mother's post.

Guanabo is a beach historically known as a departure point for rafters and illegal migrant boats heading to Florida, which adds an additional layer of concern to the case.

In the photograph published by his mother, César appears wearing a dark cap with a gold emblem and a burgundy shirt, looking to be in his twenties or thirties. His exact age and a more detailed physical description are not known.

The case came through a friend of the young man, who reached out to this outlet to ask for coverage. "The mom is very unwell, it's been many days since they disappeared, please help me," the young woman wrote.

Ludys Hernández's post was also shared in the Facebook group «DESAPARECIDOS #SOSCuba», a civic platform that collects alerts for missing persons on the island due to the lack of state search mechanisms.

Cuba lacks an official and public system for searching for missing persons, forcing families to turn to social media and independent outlets to disseminate these alerts.

The case of César is not the only one that moves Havana in these weeks. Mario Ariel Beceiro Hernández, 21 years old, has been reported missing since May 26 in the capital, where his motorcycle was found abandoned in Los Pocitos, Marianao.

Last Tuesday, a 17-year-old Cuban girl had been missing for 19 days in Matanzas, according to reports from that day. And a Cuban mother is desperately searching for her son who has been missing since December 2025 in Havana.

Anyone with information about César's whereabouts can contact his family at the numbers 55900533, 63620413, and 56121208.
