The death of Jesús Alberto Martínez Fernández, the 26-year-old who died this week in a violent incident in Palma Soriano, has caused a deep shock in that Santiago locality.

Videos shared on social media by the communicator Yosmany Mayeta Labrada show hundreds of people accompanying the funeral procession on Friday afternoon, in a massive display of grief and solidarity with the family.

Motorcycles, vehicles, and numerous locals took part in the procession through the city's streets to bid farewell to the young man. The images show a long caravan moving forward in the rain as residents join in the tribute from various points along the route.

Family, friends, and acquaintances also shared messages of condolence on social media, highlighting the personal qualities of Jesús Alberto Martínez Fernández and expressing their sorrow for what happened.

The magnitude of the farewell reflected the impact that the news has had in Palma Soriano, where the case has generated numerous reactions in recent hours.

According to information shared on social media, Jesús Alberto Martínez Fernández lost his life after being injured during an incident that occurred near Bar Galaxy, also known as El Villar. So far, the Cuban authorities have not provided a detailed official account of the events.

The funeral took place on Friday and was marked by expressions of support for the family amid the sorrow of a loss that has shocked much of the palm community.
