The death of Jesús Alberto Martínez Fernández, the 26-year-old who passed away this week in a violent incident in Palma Soriano, has caused deep shock in that Santiago town.

Videos disseminated on social media by the communicator Yosmany Mayeta Labrada showcase hundreds of people accompanying the funeral procession on Friday afternoon, in a massive display of grief and solidarity with the family.

Motorcycles, vehicles, and numerous residents took part in the procession through the streets of the city to bid farewell to the young man. The images show an extensive caravan moving forward in the rain as locals join the tribute from various points along the route.

Family, friends, and acquaintances also shared messages of condolence on social media, where they highlighted the personal qualities of Jesús Alberto Martínez Fernández and expressed their shock at what had happened.

The magnitude of the farewell reflected the impact that the news has had in Palma Soriano, where the case has generated numerous reactions over the last few hours.

According to information shared on social media, Jesús Alberto Martínez Fernández lost his life after being injured during an incident that took place near Bar Galaxy, also known as El Villar. So far, Cuban authorities have not provided a detailed official account of the events.
