At least 29 Cubans are listed as missing in Venezuela following the devastating double earthquake on Wednesday, June 24, according to monitoring based on social media tracking and the citizen platform Encuéntralos, a free and non-profit tool created to report and locate missing persons after the earthquake.

The two earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, shook Venezuela with just 39 seconds between them, resulting in until this Friday 589 fatalities and more than 4,300 injuries, according to official figures.

The UN estimates that 6.76 million people were affected. The event is considered the most powerful recorded in the country in the last 100 years.

Most of the Cubans missing are concentrated in the state of La Guaira—specifically in the areas of Caraballeda, Catia La Mar, and Los Corales—which recorded the highest structural damage with dozens of collapsed buildings.

Among the missing are very diverse profiles. Olivia Hernández Pérez, 28 years old, is a psychologist from Havana who had only recently moved to Venezuela and was last seen in Coral Park, Caraballeda.

Arístides Peralta Pérez, 58 years old, is a Cuban boxing coach who has gone missing in La Guaira. Michel Luis Curbelo Moreira, a 34-year-old physiotherapist, is also unaccounted for in that area.

Yadina de la Caridad Yáñez Linares, 36 years old, known as "Yadina La Cubana," is a cycling instructor whose last known location was the Chipis Beach Hotel in Catia La Mar.

Yosdany Quintana, a 26-year-old tattoo artist with a mustache, glasses, and several tattoos, has disappeared in the Caraballeda building.

A Cuban family of at least six members is also missing —Alain Rodríguez Rojas, Yadina de la Caridad Yánez, Teresa Rojas Rodríguez, Raudel Diosdado Rodríguez, Dylan Sander Rodríguez Yánez, and Gladys María Padrón— who were in the Oasis and Resjurel buildings in La Guaira.

The figure rises with other cases reported by the independent media elToque. One of the most distressing cases involves two minors: Vanessa Martínez and Dayan Martínez, Cuban children from Mayabeque who were living with their father—a Cuban doctor who decided to remain in Venezuela after completing a mission—in the Coral Beach building, in Los Corales.

His mother resides in Cuba. Journalist Daniel Benítez reported on his disappearance.

That same Cuban outlet reported that the Cuban artist El Funky shared on social media the case of Silvio René Garzón Molina, who was last seen in Los Corales, Caraballeda, and called for assistance in finding him.

In parallel, the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba confirmed this Friday that all the collaborators of the Cuban medical mission in Venezuela are out of danger and have joined the assistance efforts following the earthquakes.

Anyone with information about any of the missing persons can report it directly on the Encuéntralos platform (encuentralos.tecnosoft.dev), which does not require registration and publishes the data immediately to facilitate the search.
