Karol G and Rosalía were at the center of one of the most talked-about moments of the year in Latin music on Monday when the Colombian artist made a surprise guest appearance at the concert of the Catalan star at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, as part of Rosalía's Lux Tour.
The appearance of La Bichota was not to sing together, but for something much more intimate: to sit in the now-iconic confessional of La Perla, the segment of the show where Rosalía talks with her guests about heartbreaks and personal experiences.
Before Karol G took the stage, Rosalía introduced her with words that drew a standing ovation: "She has shown that with hard work, discipline, and a lot of heart, boundaries can be broken. She is a rock star, a legend, a strong woman who believes in herself. The one and only: La Bichota."
They both embraced and, once seated in the confessional, Karol G acknowledged that the meeting felt different from all the previous ones: "What a relief to finally meet," she said, while Rosalía recalled with laughter that the first time they crossed paths, there was barely "a hello and a goodbye."
The phrase did not go unnoticed, as for years fans of both artists had fueled theories about a supposed rivalry between Karol G and Rosalía that dated back to 2019, when accusations of aesthetic copying and supposed jabs in songs arose.
But the moment that truly electrified the audience came when Karol G chose to open up about a romantic relationship that left her with a deep wound.
"I was in a relationship where that person didn't like celebrating their birthday with me," confessed the interpreter of Tropicoqueta.
According to his account, the pattern repeated itself year after year: the first one passed without mention, the second was accepted, the third was indeed celebrated, but the fourth was the definitive trigger.
Both had planned a trip and were already at the airport with their luggage when the other person decided not to go through with the plan. "On my last birthday, we were going on a trip; we were already at the airport with our bags in the waiting area... but not anymore. Tell me you've had experiences, but they haven't left you in the airport waiting area," he asked Rosalía.
The Catalan woman responded immediately: "No, no, never. For me, that would be quite unforgivable."
Karol G then explained the decision she made at that moment: "I took down the suitcases and stayed. I got off that flight and got off the entire flight," using the metaphor to affirm the definitive end of that story.
Rosalía wasn't left behind: "Honestly, if the third year doesn't want to celebrate and in the fourth year leaves me in the waiting room, I'll say come on, see you later and bye, never again and goodbye."
Before performing La Perla, the Catalan artist sent a message of support that prompted applause from the audience: "Today we are going to celebrate better than at any birthday because you got rid of that pearl."
Karol G did not reveal the name of her ex-partner, but social media quickly pointed to Feid, her most recent known relationship, which lasted approximately from 2021 to the end of 2025. The Colombian singer celebrated his 33rd birthday in August 2025 in Japan, during the Summer Sonic festival, alongside friends like J Balvin and Yandel, without the presence of Karol G.
The Colombian officially confirmed the breakup with Feid in a photoshoot for Playboy published on April 8, 2026.
The confessional of the Lux Tour has become one of the hallmarks of the tour, which has already seen figures like Aitana, Bad Gyal, Lola Young, Cara Delevingne, and Yolanda Ramos, among others. The tour, which began on March 16, 2026, in Lyon, is set to conclude on September 3, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
