The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is actively seeking Alejandro T. Pena Lam, a young Cuban with ties to Miami, who appears on the most wanted list under the category of "crimes against minors," for violating the terms of his probation in Florida after being accused of alleged sexual offenses against a 13-year-old girl.

The FBI office in Tampa released the official wanted poster for Pena Lam, 25, including a photograph from 2023, his physical description, and identification details, and requested assistance from the public to locate him.

Pena Lam has been on the run for over two years after removing the ankle monitor that he was required to wear while under judicial supervision without authorization. The notice from the federal agency indicates that he has connections to Miami and was last seen in the Kendall district, in Miami-Dade County.

According to the FBI, the Cuban was formally charged in August 2023 in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division, for allegedly enticing a minor under 13 years old online to produce and send explicit sexual content images in February of that same year.

After the accusation, he was released under the supervision of the Probation Services.

On April 17, 2024, before the trial, Pena Lam removed his ankle monitor without authorization and disappeared. The following day, the federal court for the Middle District of Florida, in Orlando, issued a federal arrest warrant against him for violating the terms of his probation.

Since then, he has been a fugitive. The FBI classifies him as a "flight risk" and warns the public not to attempt to approach him.

The account of FBI Most Wanted on Facebook shared the announcement this Wednesday, making a direct appeal to the public: "We request information from the public that will help us locate Alejandro T. Pena Lam."

The FBI office in charge of the case is in Tampa, Florida. Anyone with information can report it anonymously at tips.fbi.gov or by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Pena Lam was born on October 11, 2000, in Cuba and speaks English and Spanish. Authorities describe him as a Hispanic man with brown hair and eyes, standing between 1.60 and 1.67 meters tall and weighing approximately 61 kilograms. He is also known by the names Alejandro Lam-Pena, Alejandro Lam, and Alejandro Pena.

The case of Pena Lam is set against a backdrop of growing concern over the exploitation of minors online. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children recorded 1.4 million reports of online enticement in 2025, a 158% increase from the previous year.

It is not the first time that Cubans living in South Florida have appeared on the federal agency's most-wanted lists. In 2023, the case of three Cuban brothers who are among the 20 most wanted criminals by the FBI in Miami was publicly reported again, accused of a Medicare fraud amounting to 119 million dollars in the Miami-Dade area.

The U.S. is seeking Carlos, José, and Luis Benítez for their involvement in a multimillion-dollar scheme to defraud the federal healthcare program. The three have been fugitives from justice since 2008.

In June of this year, a woman from Jamaica living in South Florida was added to the list of most wanted fraudsters by the FBI for a $34 million pandemic fund fraud.
