Jesús Cordoví Rubido, custodian of the Sports Complex in the municipality of Morón, in the province of Ciego de Ávila, disappeared on July 6 without a trace, after his family called to inform him that the food was ready, and he never returned to his home in the Reparto Loma Ciega.

According to the alert that was spread on Facebook by Guillermo Rodríguez Sánchez, Jesús left his workplace around eight o'clock in the evening on Monday, July 6, as was his custom, but he never arrived home.

The police launched an investigation following the report and were able to locate the man's bicycle, but he remains missing.

"Since then, the family has been going through a torment of suffering; the police have conducted investigations and even found Jesús's bicycle, but there has been no sign of Jesús," the post states.

Family members, neighbors, and friends have searched all the nearby mountains without finding him. "His loved ones, as can be expected, are devastated, fearing the worst," the text adds.

One element that the family and those advocating for the case highlight as crucial is that, days before his disappearance, Jesús confronted a group of night cart drivers who he caught stealing blocks and other building materials in his guard area.

"The main element to investigate could be there," indicates the publication.

Jesus is described by those who know him as a calm and hardworking person. "Jesus is an easygoing guy, good people, who would come and go peacefully to his job as a caretaker," reads the call for help.

The case occurs in a context of rising insecurity in Morón. In January 2025, the elderly Heriberto Llanez García went missing in that municipality and his body was found in a river days later.

That same month, José Alberto Campo Cruz, 65 years old, also disappeared in Morón and his body was found in March 2025 under circumstances that suggested a criminal act.

Nationwide, thefts of construction materials —blocks, cement, rebar— have multiplied across various provinces, driven by shortages and the high value of these supplies in the informal market.

In that context, facility custodians are often exposed when confronting those who attempt to steal those materials.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Jesús Cordoví Rubido can contact his family at the phone numbers 51976111 or 63136187. "They are infinitely grateful to every soul who shares this post to help disseminate the information and increase the chances of finding him," concludes the call from his loved ones.
