The president Donald Trump presided over a solemn transfer ceremony on Wednesday at the Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, to receive the remains of four American servicemen who fell in the Middle East during the conflict with Iran.
The White House released official images from the event, in which Trump —dressed in a blue suit and red tie— rendered a salute of honor in front of the coffins covered with the American flag. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth was also present at the ceremony.
The four honored servicemen are First Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25 years old; Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30; Sergeant Angel S. Rampersad, 28; and Private Isabella Gonzales, only 19 years old.
According to information from Reuters, three of them died when an Iranian missile struck their barracks at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, between July 17 and July 19.
The military officer lost his life in Erbil, Iraq, during the controlled detonation of an Iranian attack drone.
"Your service, bravery, and sacrifice will never be forgotten," stated the White House as it published images of the event on its social media.
It would be the third dignified transfer ceremony that Trump presides over since the beginning of the armed conflict with Iran, triggered in early March 2026 with the Epic Fury Operation.
Since then, American casualties have accumulated in various scenarios in the region. Six soldiers were killed in Iranian drone attacks in Kuwait between March 1 and March 3, and another six crew members of a KC-135 tanker aircraft died in Iraq on the 13th of the same month.
The first dignified transfer ceremony took place on March 7, 2026, when Trump received the remains of six fallen soldiers in Kuwait.
Iran also expanded its attacks during July against U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as the Jordanian facility of Muwaffaq Salti, according to Infobae.
U.S. military casualties in the conflict with Iran have already exceeded a dozen since the hostilities began, with the two soldiers killed in combat last week serving as the immediate background for this new ceremony in Dover.
