The Cuban influencer Daniela Reyes has just launched a social initiative called «Conscious Influence», aimed at promoting the responsible and positive use of social media, which is rooted in her own experiences as a teenager in Cuba.
In the introductory reel, Reyes explained the starting point of this project with a personal confession: "I was 16 years old when I posted my first video on social media from Cuba. While some enjoyed my content, I also received hate messages, comparisons, and comments that made me realize, as just a teenager, that the same tool can build or destroy a person."
That dual experience—the support of a portion of the audience and, at the same time, the weight of online rejection—shaped his perspective on the impact of digital platforms.
“It taught me that we can't control everything we receive, but we can control the impact we want to create. Since then, I decided that if I had a voice and a platform, I would use it to contribute,” she stated.
The initiative, which operates under the slogan "Connect. Inspire. Transform," is structured through talks, conversations with mental health professionals, and the development of free educational guides for various communities.
Daniela was emphatic in stating that this work is not new nor is it solely related to her current participation in a beauty pageant: "Miss Universe Cuba would not be the beginning of this mission. I have been promoting the conscious use of social media for over 10 years."
Among the stated goals of "Influencia Consciente" are to promote self-love and self-acceptance, to highlight that what is shown on social media does not always reflect reality, and to encourage each person to use their voice to inspire and educate.
The central message of the project is clear: "We use networks to build, not to destroy."
The launch of this initiative coincides with a time of high visibility for the content creator, who is participating as a candidate in Miss Universe Cuba 2026, a competition whose final is scheduled for August 12 in Miami.
However, Reyes made it clear that his commitment to the conscious use of social media transcends any platform or competition, and he concluded his message with a statement that encapsulates the spirit of the project: "My greatest wish is for every person who feels identified to remember that they are not alone."
