A 24-year-old Cuban known on social media as El Burla turned the purchase of a simple bottle of oil into a parody of self-help videos: after "many years of sacrifice," he was finally able to acquire the product and even a safe to keep it secure.

«Hello, they know me as El Burla. I am twenty-four years old and I managed to buy my first bottle of oil,» the young man begins saying in a video posted on Instagram, accompanied by an equally ironic description: «I Feel Blessed.»

With absolute seriousness, El Burla presents the purchase as if it were one of the greatest achievements of his life. "It was a tough journey of many years of sacrifice, but it was a goal I set for myself at a young age and I managed to achieve it," he asserts.

But the real comedic twist comes moments later, when he reveals where he plans to store his prized acquisition. "I also managed to save enough money over the past few years to buy a safe in order to securely keep my bottle of oil," he explains.

The exaggeration continues when he reveals his plans for managing it: he intends to consume it "between 2027 and 2040," meaning he wants the bottle to last him 13 years.

And as if she had just bought a house, a car, or reached a financial goal after years of hard work, she ends by leaving a message of motivation for those who are still pursuing their own objectives. "And with this, I want to tell you to fight for your dreams," she concludes.

The post exceeded 14,000 likes and garnered more than 800 comments, becoming one of the videos that have used humor to depict the uncontrollable price of oil in Cuba.

Although the video deliberately takes the situation to the absurd, the reality that fuels the joke is much less amusing.

In recent weeks, oil has become one of the most concerning staple products for Cuban families due to its scarcity and high price.
