The Cuban actress Camila Arteche clearly stated that she does not want to become a mother, during a conversation published last Friday on the show "Claríssima" by host Clarissa Molina, which airs on Univision and whose clip on TikTok surpassed 104,600 views in just a few days.

Arteche acknowledged that reaching that conclusion was not immediate: "It has been a process. I never had it absolutely clear," he admitted during the interview.

The actress shared that at the beginning of her current relationship—her partner has a child—she considered the possibility of freezing her eggs as a precaution, precisely because life and people change over time.

"I see how incredible he is, Dad... so it was like maybe I will actually fry my little eggs," she explained, adding that one changes in everything: in the way of thinking, eating, and even in beliefs.

However, at the time of the interview, her stance was clear: "Right now, where I stand in my life, is not how I want it to be."

Arteche clarified that her decision is not due to irresponsibility, but rather to an honest assessment of what motherhood entails: "I believe it carries a lot of responsibility, and not because I am irresponsible, but I do not want to face a responsibility like that."

Clarissa Molina framed the topic from the outset with a premise that guided the entire conversation: "Deciding not to be a mother is also a valid and responsible choice."

The topic of motherhood is not new in Arteche's public discourse. In April 2021, she launched a podcast aimed at women where she already discussed issues such as motherhood, sexuality, and female immigration, although at that time her stance on having children was more ambiguous.

Trained at the National School of Art in Havana, Arteche has built a recognized career in theater, film, and television, with notable works such as the movies "El acompañante" and "Sergio y Serguéi." For her role in the former, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress from the Association of Theater Critics of New York.

Regarding her romantic life, in February of this year, she revealed the face of her partner for the first time, a relationship she had kept under wraps for months without publicly disclosing his name.

The interview with Clarissa Molina represents the most direct and definitive statement that Arteche has made to date regarding her decision to not become a mother, thus concluding a process of reflection that, in her own words, had been maturing for some time.
