The Cuban TikToker Jocelyn Carabeo, known on social media as @iam_jocyy, has fulfilled one of her big dreams: to buy her first house with her boyfriend, fellow Cuban content creator, Justin Harold in Cape Coral, Florida.
"So we dreamed so much about this moment and now it is finally ours. Our first house together. Here’s to new beginnings, all the memories to come, and continuing to build our life together," the young woman wrote on Instagram, where the post garnered over 74,000 likes within a few hours.
The celebration was grand: red carpet, golden posts with ropes, an arch of balloons in red, white, and pink, golden ceremonial scissors to cut the ribbon, and inside the house, giant red foil balloon letters spelling "HOME." There are no half measures when a Cuban moves into a new home.
Two days after the announcement, Jocy posted a complete tour of the property on TikTok, a video of over four minutes that surpassed one million views and garnered 111,000 likes. With her usual charisma, the content creator explored every corner: the spacious white living room she wants to fill with color, the master bedroom with views of the patio, and—an important detail—two closets. "Here we have my closet, the biggest one, of course. It's the first time I have a little closet like this," she confessed with laughter.
The kitchen, being typically Cuban, was the first thing she prepared: "The kitchen, I think, was the first thing I could fill because, well, we needed to eat." The guest room awaits with an inflatable mattress for the family’s arrival, while the second room has already been officially "invaded" by the couple's dogs, who have their own plans for the pool.
And speaking of the pool: that is undoubtedly the highlight of the house. "This is definitely my favorite part of the house, which is the pool. It's saltwater," Jocy stated. "I really love this part of the house because from here we can see some beautiful sunsets."
What makes this story even more special is that the couple bought the property without having seen it in person and traveled directly from another state for the closing of the sale. "I was their eyes throughout the entire transaction," their realtor explained.
Cape Coral has become one of the favorite destinations for Cubans seeking to purchase a home outside of Miami in recent years, drawn by more affordable prices and a calmer environment. Several Cuban women have shared their experiences of moving to that city in southwest Florida, including its advantages and disadvantages.
Jocy, who has amassed over 1.8 million followers on TikTok, summed up the moment with a phrase that says it all: "Happiness doesn't fit in our chests."
