A 45-year-old Cuban was arrested by the Civil Guard following a violent brawl during the Son Ferrer festivities in the municipality of Calvià (Mallorca), which ended with a 22-year-old hospitalized after being struck in the head with a stick.
The incident occurred around four in the morning on Saturday, during the final day of the 2026 Fiestas de Son Ferrer, according to OK Diario.
According to that outlet, the altercation began after several young people confronted the Cuban, who was in a bar and allegedly had been harassing a group of girls. The argument escalated into a fight, which initially required the intervention of the Local Police of Calvià.
However, the confrontation continued. The man returned to his home, and several of the young people followed him there, where they beat him, which would have caused several fractured ribs.
After the attack, the Cuban entered his home, took a large stick, and went back out into the street. At that moment, he struck one of the young men, who was 22 years old, on the head.
The victim had to be transported by ambulance to a hospital for medical attention for their injuries.
Alerted by the young man's friends, the Civil Guard arrived at the scene, questioned witnesses and those involved, and detained the Cuban citizen for an alleged offense of assault.
So far, it has not been disclosed whether proceedings have been initiated against the individuals who followed the Cuban to his home and assaulted him.
The case adds to other incidents involving Cubans in Spain. In July, for example, it emerged that the Prosecutor's Office is seeking nine years in prison for three Cubans accused of a serious assault.
