Wanda Díaz ignited social media by confessing on the podcast of Dominican presenter Luinny Corporán that if she could turn back time, she would not choose to be the mother of either of her two daughters. The response from Yailin La Más Viral was swift: the Dominican singer publicly declared herself "orphaned of both father and mother."
Wanda's words were direct and unfiltered. "If it were another life, as they say I’m bad, then let’s be truly bad. If time could turn back, I wouldn’t be the mother of either of my two daughters," she stated during the interview, in which she also clarified that at the time, she did not consider terminating the pregnancy, but if she could change her story, she would. Her statements reached her two daughters: Yailin and Mami Kim.
The blow was harsh for the performer of "Bing Bon," who responded through her broadcast channel on Instagram with an emotional and powerful message. "In my life, I have always given my all to ensure that the people around me are well. But today I want to make something clear: starting from this moment, I do not want to be associated with anyone or with situations that do not pertain to me," she wrote.
In that same message, Yailin referred to herself as "orphaned of both father and mother" and recalled the loss of her father, Jorge Guillermo Redman, who died in a traffic accident when she was about nine years old. "I am a woman who has had to forge ahead on my own. I am orphaned of both father and mother, and still, thanks to God, today I can say that I am doing well," she asserted.
The singer also spoke about a personal healing process she is going through in silence. "I've been through so many things that I'm trying to heal from. I try every day, even though there are days when I feel like everything is going backward again. But I know that with God, I will overcome it all," she indicated.
This is not the first time Wanda Díaz has sparked controversy due to her behavior as a mother. In March of this year, social media erupted against her when she explained that she did not attend her granddaughter Cattleya's birthday party — daughter of Yailin and the reggaeton artist Anuel AA— because she was waiting for the singer to give her money for a makeover, and that she also did not go to court when Yailin was arrested for possession of weapons because she did not know how to find the location.
Despite those frictions, the relationship seemed to have mended: in May 2025, Yailin gifted her mother a Range Rover for her birthday, a gesture that many interpreted as a sign of reconciliation. However, the episode from this week represents the most public and painful break yet.
The reaction on social media was immediate and outraged. Fans of the artist questioned how a mother could express herself that way about her own daughters, and many highlighted the irony that Wanda had always publicly appeared as a close figure to Yailin, supporting her during many moments of her career.
Yailin concluded her message with a statement of strength: "I will remain steadfast, because I am a strong person, one who does not stop for anything. I can have the entire world against me and still I will not stop, because I have something much stronger than any adversity: the support of God."
