Bebeshito did not win at the 2026 Premios Juventud held in Marbella, but on Thursday night, he created memorable moments that are worth more than any trophy: his mother, Chavela Campo, experienced the gala live from the Starlite Auditorium in Spain, watched Marc Anthony perform — one of her greatest dreams — and proudly represented her son to the world.
The Cuban singer from the ensemble was nominated for the first time in his career in the category "The New Male Generation," marking a historic milestone for the genre. However, he was unable to travel to Spain for the ceremony, and it was Chavela who took his place among the audience.
From a distance, Bebeshito followed every moment through his phone and shared everything on his Instagram stories. One of the most emotional images of the night was that of his mother with teary eyes after watching the Puerto Rican salsa singer perform, who received the "Agent of Change" award at the gala. The artist accompanied it with the message: “You saw Marc Anthony sing just as you always dreamed, my love. I love you; you just reminded me of what I am capable of achieving.”
Weeks earlier, Bebeshito had dreamed out loud of a very specific scene: his mother sitting in the auditorium, listening as they announced his name and going up on stage to collect the trophy. "I imagine my mom sitting in a seat there and they say winner: Bebeshito, and my mom goes up and receives the award, proud of me," he wrote at the time.
The award went to Santos Bravos, but that did not diminish the excitement of the evening. When Chavela messaged him on WhatsApp, "Love, we didn't win, but you are my champion," he responded with a statement that summed it all up: "My true dream has always been to see you happy and for you to be proud of me. Enjoy it a lot; this is my first nomination but not my last."
He also shared the conversation with his wife Rachel Arderi, who wrote to him after learning the outcome: "You lost, but you gained something you never imagined or rather, something you've always dreamed of. This is the first nomination, but it won't be the last, and one day you will bring that award home."
Before the winners were announced, the artist had published a message of gratitude to his followers: "No matter what happens today, thank you very much to everyone who voted for me and supported the cast; we are nervous and anxious."
The 2026 edition of the Premios Juventud was the first to take place outside the American continent in the 23-year history of the awards.
