A woman is accused of throwing a bucket of feces at her neighbor in Miami over an alleged infidelity

A 50-year-old woman was arrested on Monday in northwest Miami-Dade after authorities accused her of breaking into her neighbor's home and throwing a bucket of human feces at her, motivated by the suspicion that the other woman was having an affair with her husband.

According to the arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Department, the accused, Yirsi Esperanza Machado Rivera, and the victim share the same divided trailer in the Royal Country mobile home park, located on the 5500 block of Northwest 200th Terrace, west of Miami Gardens.

Around 6:15 PM on Monday, Machado Rivera arrived at the section of the house where the victim resides and started knocking on the door.

When the victim opened the door, the accused confronted her, accusing her of having a sexual relationship with her husband, according to the police report.

Authorities indicated that Machado Rivera forcibly made his way into the home, pushed the victim, and before leaving, poured the contents of a bucket over them.

A witness testified to the agents that the accused had confessed her plan: "She said that she defecated in a bucket to throw it in his face."

During his interview with the agents at the Northwest District Sheriff's station, Machado Rivera provided a different account.

He stated that he was trying to get rid of a bucket of "feces" that he had been using because his toilet was broken, and he denied entering the neighbor's house or throwing anything at her.

She also claimed that, during the argument over the smell, the victim struck her in the head with a bat, causing a laceration.

Machado Rivera was arrested on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and assault, both considered felonies under Florida law.

During the bail hearing, Judge Mindy Glazer summarized the case with a straightforward statement: "This is an interesting case: she believes the neighbor is having an affair with her husband, so she forces her way into the victim's home and then throws feces, a bucket of feces at her."

The judge ordered that Machado Rivera remain in custody without bail, imposed a restraining order regarding the alleged victim, and assigned her a public defender.

This Wednesday, the accused remained detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, the main detention facility in Miami-Dade County, awaiting the setting of the bail amount.
