There are soccer players who score goals, and there are soccer players who score goals and melt half the internet with their love comments. Lamine Yamal clearly belongs to the second category, and his public displays of affection towards his girlfriend, Inés García Santos, leave no one indifferent.
In one of Inés's recent posts, where she shared her getaway to Paris with the footballer, she garnered over 3.4 million likes and more than 10,000 comments. The images showed the couple biking, exploring luxury stores like Louis Vuitton and Chanel, and a nighttime photo of Inés in a long white dress with the Eiffel Tower beautifully lit in the background. Yamal, true to his nature, didn't take a moment to appear in the comments. First, he unleashed a textbook compliment: "what a beautiful woman, elegant, sexy, spectacular". Days earlier, in response to a photo with a fuchsia pink dress for a "magical pink night," the star of FC Barcelona simply wrote "my woman," and those two words were enough to earn more than 153,000 likes.
The perhaps most heartwarming moment came in July when Inés celebrated Spain's advance to the final of the 2026 World Cup with the message "You're in the final see you NY". Yamal replied, "love uu, I'm saying it in English to get used to it." A declaration of love and a hint at their future visit to New York, all in one sentence. The comment garnered over 161,000 likes.
And if public comments are already enough material for a romantic documentary, the private gifts are just as noteworthy. On Inés's birthday, when she turned 21, Yamal dedicated a "Happy 21! I love you" in his stories and gave her a personalized album with the caption "The happiness I didn't know existed."
The relationship between both became official on May 21, 2026 at the end-of-season dinner for Barça in Castelldefels, when Lamine got out of the vehicle to assist Inés in front of the cameras.
