An 87-year-old woman turned her birthday into a memorable occasion when Marco Antonio Solís invited her to join him on stage during his Gratitude Tour 2026 concert at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, and sang her favorite song live.
It all started with a banner that the grandmother was holding among the audience: "My 87th birthday gift was getting to know you. Please sing 'If You Hadn’t Left'. I’m your number one fan." El Buki saw her, didn’t hesitate for a second, and from the stage asked, "Why don’t you bring her up here to sing with us?"
The lady, dressed in an elegant purple outfit, sat on a chair at the center of the stage next to the singer, surrounded by colorful lights, lasers, and the logo "MAS," while hundreds of phones were raised in the audience to capture the moment.
The video of the moment went viral on TikTok, where it garnered over 3.3 million views, 537,500 likes, and 23,000 shares. On the singer's official Instagram, the clip added nearly 877,000 views and more than 80,000 likes within a few hours.
"She asked for her 87th birthday gift to see Marco Antonio Solís. It became a reality," read the text overlay in the video that thousands of users shared with the hashtag #sueñocumplido.
"If You Hadn't Left" is one of the most beloved pieces in Solís's repertoire. He composed it himself, and it was first recorded by Marisela in 1984 and later by the artist himself in 1999 for his album *Trozos de mi alma*, becoming a generational anthem for the Latino audience.
This is not the first time El Buki has performed such a gesture. In October 2025, during a performance in Tampa, Florida, he came down from the stage to hug a 91-year-old Cuban grandmother and dedicated a song to her, in an episode that also moved thousands of fans.
The Gratitude Tour 2026, which began in July in Austin, Texas, travels through Mexico, the United States, Canada, and several countries in Latin America to celebrate over fifty years of musical career of the Michoacán singer.
The connection between Solís and the Cuban public also has a personal dimension: he has been married to the Cuban Cristy Salas for over thirty years, with whom he has two daughters, Marla and Alison, making him a particularly beloved figure among the island's community.
The Gratitude Tour 2026 has dates scheduled through October, and judging by moments like this, El Buki continues to prove that his greatest stage is the heart of his fans.
