Juana Valentina Varón, the 24-year-old Colombian model who married reggaeton artist Nicky Jam in August 2024, set social media alight by posting a video on Instagram showcasing her complete collection of Hermès Birkin bags: camel brown, cream white, black, red, and sky blue, all in her arms, all immaculate.
The clip, accompanied by the text "My Hermès bag collection" and the caption "My babies," garnered over 10,300 likes and 468 comments in just a few hours, provoking reactions of all kinds: admiration, irony, open envy, and a few low blows.
The first to stoke the fire was none other than Nicky Jam himself, who appeared in the comments with a statement that left many speechless: “Let them see the Christmas ones”. His comment garnered over 1,000 likes and confirmed what many had suspected: what is shown in the video is just a part of the story.
The inevitable comparison is with Georgina Rodríguez, the girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo and a major figure in the world of entertainment in Spanish culture. Georgina owns dozens of Hermès bags, part of a total collection of approximately 150 luxury handbags valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to fashion media. Juana, with her display of various colors, is on the right track.
But where the publication really got spicy was in the comments section.
The most liked of them all, with 348 "likes", was not exactly a compliment to the bags: "Beautiful, now reveal the books you've read and recommend to us." The second most popular, with 221, was also quite bold: "That's right, buy yourself 20 more!!!!" And the saying of the moment came with 185 "likes": "Tell me what you boast about, and I'll tell you what you lack."
Curious onlookers did not miss out on the relationship. With 55 "likes," someone asked bluntly: "What I want to know is how you managed to get Nicky Jam or did he get you, how did that happen?" Another, with 41, was even more straightforward: "Tell us story time about how to land a man like yours." And one particularly creative individual, with unsolicited financial advice tone, wrote: "Keep saving up, so when they leave you, you can sell everything and make a profit."
There were also those who came to Juana's defense: "There are such envious people; how many of us wouldn't want a Nicky to buy us all the purses," garnering 48 "likes." And the most straightforward of all, without any filter: "You're beautiful... but what's the point?"
The collection didn't come about overnight. Nicky Jam gifted a Hermès Birkin Himalaya —valued between $200,000 and $300,000— for Juana's 23rd birthday in January 2025, and months later added a Ferrari Roma to the list of gifts. A standard Birkin in boutiques starts at $13,500 and can exceed $35,000 on resale, making Juana's collection an investment worth several tens of thousands of dollars.
If Nicky Jam himself has already hinted that Christmas will be even more spectacular, the comments in December promise to far exceed those of this video...
