Juana Valentina Varón, the 24-year-old Colombian model who married the reggaeton star Nicky Jam in August 2024, set social media ablaze by posting a video on Instagram showcasing her complete collection of Hermès Birkin bags: camel brown, cream white, black, red, and sky blue, all in her arms, all flawless.
The clip, accompanied by the text My Hermès bag collection and the caption My babies, garnered over 10,300 likes and 468 comments within a few hours, eliciting reactions of all kinds: admiration, irony, outright envy, and a few low blows.
The first to ignite the flame was none other than Nicky Jam himself, who appeared in the comments with a phrase that left many speechless: “Let them see the Christmas ones”. His comment garnered over 1,000 "likes" and confirmed what many suspected: what is seen in the video is just a part of the story.
The inevitable comparison is with Georgina Rodríguez, Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend and a major reference for Birkin in the Spanish entertainment world. Georgina owns dozens of Hermès bags, within a total collection of approximately 150 luxury bags valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to fashion media estimates. Juana, with her display of various colors, is on the right track.
But where the post really got spicy was in the comments section.
The most liked of all, with 348 "likes", was not exactly a compliment for the bags: "Beautiful, now reveal the books you have read and recommend to us." The second most popular, with 221, was not far behind: "That's right, have them buy you 20 more." And the usual saying came in with 185 "likes": "Tell me what you boast of, and I will tell you what you lack."
Curious onlookers were not lacking regarding the relationship. With 55 "likes," someone asked directly: "What I want to know is how you managed to land Nicky Jam or did he land you, what's the story?" Another, with 41, was even more straightforward: "Tell us story time about how to get a man like yours." And one particularly creative commenter, with an unsolicited financial advisory tone, wrote: "Keep saving so that when they leave you, you can sell everything and make a profit."
There were also those who defended Juana: "There are so many envious people; how many of us wouldn't want a Nicky to buy us all the handbags," with 48 likes. And the most succinct of all, without any filter: "You are beautiful... but what a need."
The collection didn't appear overnight. Nicky Jam gifted her a Hermès Birkin Himalaya —valued between $200,000 and $300,000— for Juana's 23rd birthday in January 2025, and months later he added a Ferrari Roma to the list of gifts. A standard Birkin at the boutique starts at $13,500 and can exceed $35,000 on resale, making Juana's collection an investment worth several tens of thousands of dollars.
If Nicky Jam himself has already hinted that Christmas will be even more spectacular, the comments in December promise to far exceed those of this video...
