The United States dollar (USD) rose again this Monday in the Cuban informal market, reaching 715 Cuban pesos (CUP), its highest rate in the last 30 days.
At 10:00 a.m. Cuban time, placed the U.S. dollar two pesos above the 713 CUP recorded on the previous day.
The rise is even more pronounced when compared to a week ago, when the dollar was trading at 694 CUP.
In just seven days, it has gained 21 pesos, equivalent to an approximate increase of 3%.
Exchange Rate Evolution
In the past 30 days, the US dollar has risen by 52.50 pesos from 663 CUP, although part of that variation may reflect methodological adjustments of the index.
The value this Monday, 715 CUP, also matches the highest recorded during that period.
The euro also maintains strong upward pressure, and this Monday it is trading at 818 CUP, with a buying value of 815 pesos and a selling value of 820.
The European currency gains six pesos compared to the previous day, when it was at 812 CUP, and it also reaches its highest level in the last 30 days.
In a week, the euro has gained 24.50 pesos from 793 CUP, an increase of nearly 3.1%. Compared to the 746 CUP recorded 30 days ago, it has accumulated a rise of 72 pesos.
The MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) is currently valued around 496 CUP, with a buying reference of 459 pesos and a selling reference of 533.
Regarding the previous day, the MLC decreased by 19.50 pesos from 516 CUP, a drop of about 3.8%.
However, on the weekly horizon, it maintains a gain of 14 pesos compared to the 482 CUP recorded seven days ago.
