The Cuban comedian Javier Berridy, known on social media as "Javier Humor," publicly responded to the official program Con Filo after being featured in one of its episodes, describing the show as a "vomit-inducing communist program" in a reel that went viral on Facebook.
The trigger was the episode on Tuesday titled “Who’s Afraid of the Wolf?”, aired by Cubavisión, in which the regime's propaganda program used a clip of Berridy to illustrate its argument regarding the alleged irrationality of the pro-Trump Cuban exile community.
The video that Con Filo borrowed was a parody: Berridy portrayed an old Cuban Trump supporter who reacts with exaggerated outrage to the campaign announcement of Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar, published on September 17, in which the Cuban-American Republican legislator confronted the president over his mass deportation policies.
In the character, Berridy shouted phrases like "Rebellion on the farm! This is treason!" and called Salazar "communist," satirizing precisely the more radical sectors of the exile community that reject any criticism of Trump.
The state program, co-produced by Cubadebate and the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, used that clip out of context for its own propaganda purposes, without clarifying that it was a satire.
Berridy did not take long to respond and was straightforward: "Sir, I was brought back on 'Con filo'. The disgusting communist program 'Con filo' aired my video where I was messing around with the statements made by Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar to President Donald Trump."
Far from being bothered by the coverage, the comedian took the opportunity to draw a significant political distinction: "The only consequence that a statement could bring to María Elvira is... not acting as her electorate expects, which is losing the elections, nothing more."
Then came the contrast with Cuba: "In Cuba, on the other hand, things get really interesting. If you make a statement that the people in charge of the country don't like or if you don't conform to the narrative upheld by the communists, you won't just lose an election; you'll lose your freedom, which is much worse."
Berridy also issued an ironic challenge to the producers of the official media: "As I always tell the guys from Confilo, if you're going to show my little videos, damn it, show the ones where I talk about Raúl or where I criticize Díaz-Canel, calling him an idiot, because I know you watch them."
The response reel accumulated almost 10,000 likes and 164 comments, while a second video related to the same topic reached an additional 129,150 views.
It is not the first time that Con Filo has pointed out figures from the exile community or humorists for their arguments, with the usual effect of amplifying the visibility of those mentioned. Among the most viral videos of Berridy in 2026 are parodies of Raúl Castro calling Trump and the alphabet of Cuba's problems, making him one of the most active Cuban humorists on social media during this period.
Berridy concluded his response reel with the phrase that the regime would never broadcast: "Down with the dictatorship and Díaz-Canel, son of a bitch."
