
The Ministry of Domestic Trade of Cuba established the creation of a light gastronomy network comprised of mobile or fixed sales points aimed at offering easily prepared and quickly consumable food.
The measure is contained in the , published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cuba No. 90 Extraordinary of 2026, dated October 2nd.
According to the regulation, the new network will consist of economic actors whose corporate purpose includes gastronomic services and who possess the relevant commercial license.
Establishments may operate as fixed or mobile sales points and will have the option to specialize, or not, in specific lines of offerings.
The resolution also stipulates that these businesses may be organized into commercial chains associated with registered brands.
The regulation also establishes that the network must provide services primarily in selected areas with a high concentration of people, always in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Another element included is the possibility for economic actors managing three or more points of sale to participate in bids for managing gastronomic establishments or production centers.

The decision comes months after Cuban authorities announced other measures aimed at reorganizing and expanding certain commercial modalities.
In June, the Government opened the possibility of operating foreign franchises in Cuba and subsequently presented a package of 176 economic measures with changes in various areas of the economy.
