Maluma made a surprise guest appearance at Shakira's penultimate concert of her European residency in Madrid, and together they created the most talked-about moment of the night: the first live performance of their new collaboration "Agua", in front of over 50,000 people at the Estadio Shakira de Iberdrola Music in Villaverde.

The reunion on stage this Sunday ignited the excitement of the audience and quickly spread across social media. Maluma posted a carousel of photos from the encounter on Instagram this Monday, accompanied by a phrase taken directly from the chorus of the song: "Our chemistry doesn't know how to lie @shakira." Within a few hours, the post accumulated more than 195,000 likes and nearly 1,500 comments, with fans of both artists celebrating the reunion.

In addition to "Agua," the Colombian duo also performed "Chantaje," the classic that catapulted them to number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs for 11 weeks in 2016, and whose music video has now surpassed 3.2 billion views on YouTube.

"Agua" was released on September 17, strategically coinciding with the start of Shakira's residency in Madrid, and marks the fourth collaboration between the two artists in a decade, eight years after "Clandestino" (2018). The song blends urban merengue with Latin pop and revolves around an irresistible chemistry: "Look how our bodies gradually collide / Our chemistry knows no lies."

The official video clip of "Agua" on YouTube had already surpassed 18.6 million views this Monday, with over 235,000 likes, while on Spotify the song had accumulated more than 15 million total streams since its release.

The anticipation to hear the song live had been growing since late September, when Maluma teased his followers: "Get ready to hear it live." The appearance on Sunday was the confirmation fans had been waiting for, and the phrase from the chorus became the spontaneous slogan of the reunion.

Shakira's Madrid residency, part of her worldwide tour "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour," brought together around 600,000 people over 12 concerts held between September 18 and October 11. The venue, named Estadio Shakira, was a temporary space set up at Iberdrola Music, with a capacity of over 50,000 attendees per night, and featured an adjacent cultural area called Macondo Park, inspired by the universe of Gabriel García Márquez.

This Monday, Día de la Hispanidad, Shakira is concluding her residency with a third extra date, featuring confirmed guests Maluma, Beéle, Dani Martín, and Bizarrap, turning the farewell into one of the most awaited Latin pop events for fans in Spain.
