How much money do you need to live alone in Las Vegas? Cuban content creator La Chiki Medina shared a breakdown of the main monthly expenses in this city in Nevada, where, according to her calculations, a person may need between $2,350 and $3,200 per month to cover their basic needs.

Through a video posted on TikTok, the Cuban explained how much is allocated to rent, utilities, food, and transportation, excluding savings, debts, vacations, or potential monthly car payments.

The highest expense is housing. According to La Chiki Medina, renting an apartment in Las Vegas can cost between $1,200 and $1,500 per month, depending on the area and the characteristics of the property.

As a reference, Apartments.com places the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Las Vegas at around $1,251 per month, although prices vary depending on the location.

This amount needs to be supplemented by basic services, such as water, electricity, and internet, which the creator estimates to be between 200 and 300 dollars per month. During the summer, electricity consumption can increase significantly due to the high temperatures in the city.

"The air conditioning is pretty much on all day," the Cuban remarked while explaining how the use of air conditioning impacts the bills.

Food is another significant expense. "For groceries, we’re looking at a minimum of about three hundred fifty to five hundred dollars a month if you cook at home often; if you eat out, well, that's a whole different story," he explained.

Transportation also occupies a significant part of the budget, especially for those who need a car for their daily commutes.

"Between maintenance, fuel, and insurance, we are looking at a minimum of between four hundred and six hundred dollars a month, not counting a car payment," detailed La Chiki Medina.

Finally, he estimated an additional 200 to 300 dollars for the phone and other unexpected expenses.

When adding all these items together, the estimated budget ranges between 2,350 and 3,200 dollars per month, an amount that can increase depending on one's lifestyle, area of residence, and financial obligations.

Although Nevada has the advantage of not imposing a state income tax and Las Vegas may be more affordable than other major American cities, the creator believes it is no longer as budget-friendly as many people imagine.

"Las Vegas is still a city that is much cheaper than many other cities here in the United States, but it's no longer extremely cheap," he stated.

In June 2025, another Cuban resident in Las Vegas shared how much her family spent monthly, with a budget of approximately $2,700, which also sparked interest among those looking for references on the cost of living in the city.
