The Cuban influencer Yainelis Ramírez, known as La Melliza, once again found herself at the center of controversy after a clip of an interview went viral in which she asserts: "There are good gigolos" and defends men who live off the money earned by their partners, as long as they take them to work, pick them up, and wait for them calmly at home.

His statements, made during a conversation on the podcast "Ernesto Behind the Scenes", sparked a wave of criticism on social media, where many users questioned the "peculiar" classification of the content creator based in Miami.

In the 32-second video clip, La Melliza distinguishes between what she considers "good chulos" and "bad chulos."

"There are good guys who take you to work, pick you up, and wait at home quietly for their women to arrive. They chose that life. Then there are others who are the worst; they drop you off at work, go to the clubs, and spend the money you brought. Those are the bad ones. But the one who waits for you at home, calm and collected, that's a decision you made," she affirmed.

The interview was recorded approximately two months before the excerpt began to circulate widely at the end of August and throughout September. However, those few seconds were enough to ignite the debate.

"Now there are good idiots": Social media reacts

In a post from the Instagram account "For a Free Cuba", the statements sparked a wave of comments filled with outrage and sarcasm.

"Cool guys. What entrepreneurial and progressive thoughts, but well, everyone has their own life. Diversity is what makes this world so interesting," a user quipped.

Another questioned, "Normalizing pimping and prostitution is a sign of how poorly we are as a society."

The account "Por Una Cuba Libre" accompanied the video with a reflection on the loss of values: "In the Cuban community, we have reached a point where we accept as normal what should provoke outrage."

La Melliza talks about her past as a dancer and her ex-partner

During the interview, La Melliza also revealed that she worked for nine years as a dancer in nightclubs in Miami, a period during which, according to her testimony, she ended up using drugs.

He also stated that his ex-partner Jacel "has never worked in this country" and that her main contribution during their relationship consisted of driving her to and from work.

Although she initially rejected the idea of considering him a cocky person, she ultimately acknowledged the contradiction in her argument. "Jael was never a cocky person in my life because I didn't see him that way, you see? Because he was my husband. But that was what he was," she expressed.

The controversy also reached YouTube, where content creator Adrián Peachy published a reaction video lasting almost 51 minutes, which surpassed 85,000 views.

In the comments of that video, numerous viewers questioned not only La Melliza's statements but also the influence she wields over her followers.

"The problem is that we have normalized these behaviors; it's fine for her to say funny things sometimes, but for people to think she is a role model? For God's sake, how poorly we are doing as a society," wrote a user.

Another lamented: "What a way to normalize degradation and see these cases as examples of triumph."

A third comment highlighted those who celebrate her statements: "For me, the worrying part is not her, who is just one person in the end, but the hundreds of people who laugh at her jokes and tell her she’s the best and that everything she says is right. That is where the real problem lies."

The discussion also highlighted that not everyone interprets economic agreements within a couple in the same way. However, being financially dependent on another person does not necessarily imply pimping, a distinction that became blurred in the words of the influencer.

This is not the first time La Melliza has been at the center of a public controversy. In September, she also sparked debate with her comments about Cuban immigrants holding the I-220A form, which were questioned by the communicator Alexander Otaola.
